Working . . .

Since it's been exactly a month since I last posted, I thought I'd better check in.  I'm still here, just buried under lots of fabric and half finished projects.  I've been focused on creating some cozy winter items for the upcoming Christmas Crossroads craft fair.  Honestly, I've felt a bit like a hamster running on a wheel getting nowhere lately,  but that's how it is producing things in bulk.  I'm almost completely finished with 13 reversible jumpers, halfway done with a more formal dress, and about a third of the way done with some cute, whimsical Thanksgiving and Winter dresses.  There will be many baby outfits being produced very soon as well.  So needless to say, there isn't any room to walk in the sweat shop right now.  I'm hoping to be far enough along in another day or so to show you all a few sneak peaks.

Back to the machine . . .

A Little Sneak Peak

I haven't been around much since school started.  I've been trying to get into the homeschooling routine and needless to say, it's been an interesting few weeks for both me and my son.  I've also been working hard on some new creations to show you all!!  I'll have some brand new designs done soon for our upcoming Christmas Crossroads show in Lockport the weekend before Thanksgiving.  I was lucky enough to have my friend's beautiful daughter model for me.  Take a look!!

Sneak Peeks before I leave for a week

I thought I would share some quick photos of what I have been working on this week. I fell in LOVEwith the Smurfs when I was a little girl and I am thrilled to be able to share that love with my own children ~ especially my daughter, Katie Lou! She squealed with delight when I showed her what I was sewing and is very excited to model these dresses that Karen & I are working on and I thought you might like a little teaser too.....

Now that I have shared I just want to say why I will be MIA over the next 8 days as my family and I will be heading North to Sister Lakes, Michigan for a much needed rest! We are looking forward to spending long lazy days at the beach building sand castles, swimming out to the raft and fishing in the evenings. We love cooking out, roasting marshmallows and of course making YUMMY Smores too! The kids are super excited to get up to the Lake! I am looking forward to reliving my childhood memories of spending my summers in this quaint little town that time has forgotten with my husband and children. I have promised to leave the sewing machines at home ~ however I am sneaking my jewelry making supplies and laptop up there just incase we get a rainy day....otherwise it will be constant family fun for all of us!!!

Camping

The great outdoors and I have not been the best of friends.  I have been a very reluctant camper who tolerates the muggy bug infested air.  Not to mention we have been rained on while camping as we found out just how non-waterproof our tent really is.  Soooo, tomorrow I will once again be on another camping adventure (Dawn, stop laughing!).  However, I'm a bit more optimistic this time since some very sweet neighbors must have gotten a whisper from God to lend us their pop up camper.  I will never be able to express my gratitude!!!  I AM really looking forward to this trip though.  We will be camping with just about our entire church and we're scheduled to see some great Christian bands on Saturday, provided the rain decides to hold off.  Thom and I have a special place in our hearts for Jars of Clay and now we will get to take our kids to see them!!  The sewing will have to be put on hold for the weekend because I think if I bring my sewing machine with me I would get many dirty looks.  Hey, the campground has electric . . . why not, right?  Yeah, that was given a big fat NO from the family.

One last note for tonight ... I feel so blessed to have "met" a new friend over the phone!  Alicia Paulson you are WAY cool and I feel blessed to get to know you better.  Night everyone!!
